Now my daughter is quarter aztec and quarter mexican and what ever she gots from me and is almost black is some places, she is really dark. But Ive seen alot of light skin natives in canada and U.S. Except out West of course. It's really dark over there lmao. Since I was raised native I never knew a difference until I got older."Gaa wiin daa-aangoshkigaazo ahaw enaabiyaan gaa-inaabid"

Same with me ya can tell I'm native around natives but anywhere else it's either hispanic or white. I make sure my kids are with natives. I'm sick of people saying you can't help who your kids fall in love with, I'm like oh yes I can LOL. Simple solution just keep them round natives 95% of the time.

Originally posted by ojibwaysweetieI wonder how one can really really measure the ndn blood in one's being. LOL. I can measure half breed, anything less than that gets difficult to "measure". A full blood marries a white person, they have children...those children are HALF. How the heck does one measure 1/8th or 1/16th? That is barely any ndn blood at all, therefore how can one say "I am Native" with only a nosebleed of blood within? I am sure if you marry white, your children won't be ndn at all. It is hard for my elders to look at a blonde child with white skin and blue eyes and believe they are ndn.
However I do agree that we all have to marry our own kind, perhaps not our own tribe, but MARRY NDN in order to bring that ndness back.
