Hello brothers and sisters!
This is to let you know that a petition has been posted online asking for an apology on behalf of Indigenous Americans throughout from all those involved in planning and broadcasting the "Survivor Guatemala" episode where contestants were given feathers and war paint and encouraged to mock the Indigenous culture of Guatemala.
The episode aired on Thursday September 29, 2005. We've posted pictures from the show on our website at:
We hope that people on this board will be sympathetic to our cause.
We would really appreciate support for our petition.
It would help us out if people could post a link to our website or to our petition on boards and list serves that they think would be supportive.
Signing the petition is easy and it would also help us out a lot.
The petition is located at:
If we can get enough signatures, we intend to present it to CBS on Columbus day.
We also have a message/discussion board up. We'd be happy to talk with anyone who wants to talk to us about why we wrote the petition.
