Tribal police are looking for Charles Reed Chapoose, who has been missing since Nov. 25 from the Ute Indians' Uintah and Ouray Reservation.
Chapoose, also known as "Charlie" and "Cheez," was last seen Friday on the road to Towave Reservoir. He was driving a pickup truck and headed toward Hill Creek to guide elk hunters, according Erik La Rose, supervisory special agent for the U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs.
Police found Chapoose's truck broken down near Santio's Ranch and believe he walked north, looking for help. He has not been seen since.
Chapoose, 26, was last seen wearing a black baseball hat, a black Reebok pullover, dark jeans, hiking boots and sunglasses. He was described as an American Indian with black hair, brown eyes, a mustache and a scar above his right eyebrow.
Anyone with information about Chapoose is asked to call the Fort Duchesne Communications Center at 435-722-2012 or 435-722-2911.
