  • Former Turtle Mountain tribal councilman convicted of assault

    Minot, North Dakota (AP)

    A former Turtle Mountain tribal councilman has been convicted of assaulting the tribe’s personnel director and acquitted of witness tampering, federal prosecutors say.

    The U.S. attorney’s office said Douglas Delorme, 38, of Belcourt, was convicted by a federal jury during December on a charge of assault resulting in serious bodily injury.
