Albuquerque, New Mexico (AP)
A hiker had found the woman’s skull in the desert on the city’s west side nearly three years ago.
Although investigators have used fingerprints, DNA, dental records and X-rays to identify people, none of those efforts have helped in this case.
So Albuquerque police detectives are relying on a facial reconstruction from her skull – the first time one has been done in Albuquerque on a Jane Doe homicide victim. Detectives hope the sight of it and her distinctive shirt will stir up a memory of the woman and move someone to call in with her name.
