    Man sentenced to prison for stabbing on Rosebud

    Sioux Falls, South Dakota (AP)

    A St. Francis man was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for a stabbing death on the Rosebud Reservation.

    Melvin Smashed Ice, 38, was indicted for second-degree murder but pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of voluntary manslaughter.

    A Fort Yates man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for an attack on his girlfriend.

    Gabriel Marshall was charged in federal court with assault of a minor resulting in serious bodily injury. He pleaded guilty in April.
