U.S. Sen. Jon Tester has nominated Dr. Joe Medicine Crow, author and tribal historian of the Crow Indian Tribe, for a Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Medicine Crow, 94, served in the Army during World War II and became a chief in the Crow Tribe after the war. He is also the author of several books and the first Crow Indian to receive a master’s degree. He is an accomplished scholar, teacher, writer and historian.
