2 WWII veterans receive French Legion of Honor awards

Two Montana veterans have been honored for their service to France during World War II.

Joe Medicine Crow of the Crow Reservation and Staff Sgt. Frank Stoltz of Miles City received the “National Order of the Legion of Honor,” from the French government on June 25.

A 94-year-old veteran from the Crow Tribe has been nominated for a Congressional Gold Medal for his heroic actions during World War II.

The medal is the highest civilian honor awarded by Congress.
