A man convicted for a drunken driving crash that killed one of his passengers on the Fort Belknap Reservation was sentenced Aug. 18 to nearly five years in prison.
Kenneth Helgeson, a 62-year-old resident of the reservation, was convicted in April of involuntary manslaughter for the June 2006 crash that killed Jean LaTray, 63. He was sentenced to 57 months in prison, plus three years probation after his release.
