    New Haven, Connecticut (AP)News From Indian Country - Tribe reviewing recognition rejection

    Chief Richard Velky of the Schaghticoke Tribal Nation says he’s reviewing a judge’s ruling that rejects the tribe’s latest attempt to win federal recognition before deciding how to respond.

    The tribe, which has a state-recognized reservation in Kent, has the option of appealing the Aug. 26 decision by New Haven federal Judge Peter Dorsey.
