  • New Jersey Native Americans focus of Corzine directive

    Trenton, New Jersey (AP)

An executive order signed by Gov. Jon Corzine calls for lawmakers and state agencies to enact programs and policies designed to improve the lives of American Indians in New Jersey.

The order, signed Oct. 1, calls on the state to adopt recommendations of a committee Corzine appointed two years ago after the fatal shooting of a member of the Ramapough tribe by a state park police officer.
