Control of a medical center that has been operated by the federal government was transferred Oct. 1 to the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma.
The W.W. Hastings Indian Clinic, formerly operated by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, has served many American Indians of all tribes over the years and officials expressed confidence that patients would continue to receive quality care.
