Scott,William “Bill” age 72 of Stone Lake, passed away September 24, 2008, at Spooner Health System
William Norbert was born January 20, 1936, in Rice Lake, WI, the son of Raymond & Verona (Benson) Scott. He attended St. Francis School in Reserve and graduated from Hayward High School. Bill worked in construction for some years with his father, then enlisted in the US Army and served from May 8, 1958 – April 26, 1961. After the service he worked various jobs including several years with the Omni Lab in New Post and Madison. On October 7, 1967, he was united in marriage to Betty Gavin at St. Francis Church. In 1993 he began work for the LCO Clinic and was currently head of maintenance there. He was a member of the Sawyer County EMS, Stone Lake Fire Department and the Stone Lake Lions. He had a passion for making maple syrup, harvesting wild rice and inventing. He was known by many as a “Country Genius.”
