The district judge has ruled that a special election to recall Big Horn County Sheriff Lawrence “Pete” Big Hair cannot be held because the petition was “fatally defective.”
Judge Randal Spaulding signed a permanent injunction Oct. 13 that prevents the county clerk and recorder from placing the recall petition on the ballot. The judge said the petition was defective because the drive’s organizer, Robert Runge, offered only a notarized affidavit that the statement of facts in the petition was true and accurate to “the best of my knowledge and belief.”
