A Kansas tobacco wholesaler and his business associates are charged in a federal indictment with an alleged scheme to avoid paying $25 million in cigarette taxes to the state of Oklahoma and Indian tribes.
A 43-count indictment unsealed Oct. 17 charges Gary Hall, the president and owner of Sunflower Supply Co. in Galena, Kan., along with seven other people. Besides Sunflower, two other companies were indicted: Discount Tobacco Warehouse Inc. of Joplin, Mo., and Rebel Industries Inc. of Galena.
