Barack Obama was declared the winner around 10 pm CST in the Presidential election, garnishing some 62,776,613 confirmed votes to McCain’s 55,623,738, and clearing 364 of the 270 votes needed to carry the electoral college and win the election. McCain recieved 163 electoral votes.
