A Canadian couple face murder charges in the shooting death of a man found in his burning home in Hogansburg, a village in the Mohawk reservation at New York’s northern border.
The body of 44-year-old Thomas Hathaway Jr. was found when firefighters responded to a fire at 3 a.m. on Sept. 3. Police say he had been shot twice in the head before the house was set ablaze. Hathaway was the father of two grown sons and owner of a local drywall supply and a butcher shop.
