A federal indictment was unsealed Nov. 24 charging two former Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes of Oklahoma business committee representatives with 26 counts involving conspiracy and embezzlement of more than $200,000 of tribal funds.
The indictment alleged that William F. Blind Jr., 67, and his wife, Vinita H. Sankey, conspired to embezzle tribal funds entrusted to them through various travel claims, U.S. Attorney John C. Richter said in a news release.
