The man who helped make gaming a reality on the Navajo Nation resigned just days before the tribe opened its first casino to the public.
Edward Lockett Jr. was the first director of the tribe’s Gaming Regulatory Office. He submitted his resignation two days before thousands attended the opening of the Fire Rock Casino near Gallup, N.M., on Nov. 19.
