A former Seminole Nation Council member who was accused of taking bribes from the tribe’s casino financier has pleaded guilty to obstruction of the due administration of justice, federal prosecutors said.
A jury was prepared to begin hearing evidence on Dec.11 in the case against Ricky Van Deer, but Deer entered a plea instead, U.S. Attorney Sheldon Sperling said in a statement.
