Miami, Florida (AP)
The Miccosukee Tribe has won a judgment in Miami federal court against a man who allegedly infringed on its name.
The tribe’s lawsuit said that 45-year-old Steven Thiele registered the domain names miccosukeetribeofindians.com, miccosukeetribeofindiansofflorida.com and billycypress.com – the name of the elected chairman of the tribe. Each site sent viewers to Thiele’s own site – 1stunna.com – which comes from a rap song.
