A federal jury convicted an ex-Apache Tribe official on Dec. 12 of diverting thousands of dollars of tribal tax revenue into a personal account.
The panel found Emily Anne Saupitty, a former secretary-treasurer of the tribe, guilty on all 33 embezzlement counts filed against her. The court will schedule a formal sentencing date in about 90 days.
