Hopi lawmakers have scheduled a hearing to determine whether tribal Chairman Ben Nuvamsa, who said he was resigning Dec. 31, neglected his duties while in office.
The council voted Dec. 23 to hire a special prosecutor to look into a complaint filed by religious leaders that alleged Nuvamsa neglected his duties by improperly seating council members. The hearing is scheduled for Jan. 28.
