An application to develop a tribal casino at Beloit has been denied by the U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs, marking the second time in a week that the federal government rejected proposals for off-reservation gambling projects in southern Wisconsin.
U.S. Rep. Tammy Baldwin, D-Wis., and state Sen. Judy Robson, D-Beloit, issued statements expressing disappointment at the decision announced during January on the Beloit casino. They also said they hope that the Obama administration, will reverse the decision.
