The state Department of Education says a school district in eastern Idaho has labeled Native American students who struggle because of race or poverty as disabled and placed them in special education classes.
The department has ordered Idaho School District 25 in Pocatello to direct nearly $368,000 from its special education budget to its general operating fund and use the money to pay for student intervention programs.
