  • Tribes upset over bill to ban smoking at casinos

    By Susan Haigh
    Hartford, Connecticut (AP)

The chairman of the Mohegan Tribe said March 25 he’ll take the state of Connecticut to federal court if a bill to limit smoking in the state’s two tribal casinos becomes law.

Bruce “Two Dogs” Bozsum said he’ll also withhold the state’s 25 percent share of the Mohegan Sun casino’s slot machine revenues and put them into an untouchable account until the dispute is resolved.

I went to a meeting held at the Legends casino and the smoke from the casino below the meeting room was so bad it hurt my eyes. I'm not a smoker or a gambler so I wasn't too pleased upon leaving there and smelling of cigarette smoke.
