Thune urges Interior to fund Indian crime effort

Washington, D.C. (AP)

Sen. John Thune has sent a letter to Interior Secretary Ken Salazar urging him to support funding for law enforcement surges similar to one conducted on the Standing Rock Reservation.

That effort last summer sent additional officers to the reservation and resulted in numerous arrests and a drop in crime.
