Twelve years ago Evan Adams, playing Thomas Build-The-Fire, starred in the popular Sherman Alexie movie, SMOKE SIGNALS.
Dr. Adams is Coast Salish from the Sliammon Band near Powell, British Columbia. His dad is a chief who never graduated from school, but encouraged his son to go to medical school.
Now, he looks after aboriginal health in British Columbia.
