A federal appeals court April 24 upheld the conviction and 32-month prison term of a woman who fatally stabbed her boyfriend at their home on the Fort Peck Reservation in northeastern Montana.

Stanette Crowe, now 23, was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the New Year’s Day 2007 death of 22-year-old Donald Eagleman. U.S. District Judge Sam Haddon sentenced Crowe to 32 months in federal prison and three years of supervised release.
