Butte County supervisors have decided to appeal a federal court ruling allowing the Chico Rancheria Mechoopda to build a casino between Oroville and Chico.
The county claims the casino’s backers are a collection of 11 unrelated groups that have little in common with the historic Mechoopda tribe.
