The U.S. Interior Department plans to spend $4.3 million it got from the economic stimulus package on national parks and other projects in Louisiana.
The projects include tearing down 17 miles of levee in the Upper Ouachita National Wildlife Refuge to improve habitat and spending $1.1 million on maintenance and repairs at the Cane River Creole National Historic Park and the Jean Lafitte National Historic Park and Preserve.
