An attorney for the White Mountain Apache Tribe says a woman who was lost on tribal land and started part of the largest wildfire in Arizona history will get a fair shake in tribal court.
Robert Brauchli’s comments came a day after the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that Valinda Jo Elliott must first exhaust her remedies in tribal court before turning to the federal courts.
