    The northeastern edge of the Warm Springs Reservation is being considered as a site for a windmill farm that could generate enough power for 27,000 homes.

    The Mutton Mountain area would be home to 65 to 75 wind turbines over 300 acres.

    An area of Flint once planned for residential housing now will be dedicated to honoring and researching the Saginaw Chippewa who lived and died there.

    A team of volunteers funded by the tribe will excavate the land during August.

    Havasupai Tribe closes Havasu Canyon due to floods

    Havasu Canyon on the western end of the Grand Canyon is closed until at least Nov. 1 because of flooding.

    The Havasupai Tourism Office says on its Web site it will not be taking reservations until that time.

    Seattle City Light says an agreement has been reached to relicense its dam on the Pend Oreille (PAHN’-doh-RAY’) River in northeast Washington.

    As part of the agreement another dam owned by the Pend Oreille Utility District will be dismantled....
