United Keetoowah Band officials are pleased with a Denver appeals court ruling that reversed a lower court decision upholding a U.S. Housing and Urban Development decision to strip funds from the tribe.
The 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that HUD’s formula to give funds to tribe under the Native American Housing Assistance and Self Determination Act did not consider a tribe’s need, as stated in the law.
