A federal judge says an Iraqi war veteran from South Dakota serving 21 years for murder should get a new trial because jurors didn’t hear enough about the violent past of the man he killed.
James Gregg of Harrold says he acted in self-defense when he shot and killed James Fallis on July 4, 2004, on the Crow Creek Reservation.
