A federal grand jury in Phoenix has indicted a Tucson man on five counts, including first-degree murder, in a slaying last month on the Gila River Reservation.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office says 33-year-old Eugene Joseph Escalanti also was indicted on counts of felony murder, kidnapping, assault resulting in serious bodily injury and assault with a dangerous weapon.
