A federal agency has proposed major changes to the contracting program for minorities that spurred massive growth among Alaska Native corporations.
Under the Small Business Administration’s 31-page plan released during late October, the agency could terminate Alaska Native firms early from the contracting program if they grow over a certain size. Currently, the firms’ size matters only when they join the program.
