Sixteen people have filed to run for chairman of the Three Affiliated Tribes.
The candidates include incumbent Marcus Levings and former two-term chairman Tex Hall.
Levings beat Hall by more than 200 votes in 2006, but the contest dragged on for months while Hall unsuccessfully appealed his loss to the National Indian Gaming Commission and tribal courts.
The tribe with 12,000 enrolled members will hold its primary election Sept. 21. The top two vote-getters will move on to the general election Nov. 2.
