Why is it that SOME native people so easily forget the suffering our ancestors endured during the raping of our Mother for gold. Though it goes on... do we turn our backs on our First Nation relatives simply because they live at the South of Turtle Island? Do we ignore those being massacred TODAY simply because they choose to CONTINUE defending our Mother and future generations? We should not forget that the only reason we are here is because a few of OUR ancestors were willing to stand up and say THIS IS NOT RIGHT...
Today we have the freedom to not be shot for leaving the reservation. We also have the freedom to stand up and say, THIS IS NOT RIGHT!

In a way... Well more than in a way, their defending the rainforest is defending future generations. As they say, the rainforest is the lungs of the world.

First Nations people (and all people) must continue to defend the Mother. Borders erected between the Indigenous peoples of Turtle Island should not stand between our Sovereignty and recognition of brother tribes enduring a new Wounded Knee.
We are truly at the crossroads and this is not the time to forget about our duties...
