I had read the article this morning on my Facebook which a friend send me on notification. No Native don't want autopsy to perform like surgery on the Dead native person to find out why he died on the highway. It is against their spiritual religion which they have been doing this for many centuries.
It is hard because the white society really want their way to do the autopsy instead of our wishes not to have autopsy.
Maybe they should have thought about making the will or a living will and letting them know that the person does not wish to have autopsy at all. Just do the traditional way like sewing to close the mouth together and do whatever they want to bury or cremated.
Every tribe has different ways to do what is proper for their spiritual religion to mourn and to prepare for funeral or memorial.
I used to live in Minnesota while I was raised there (I was born in Chicago, Illinois). I used to visited Mille Lacs Lake Reservation when I was young. I knew their history from the past. May he rest in peace.Last edited by DeafElderWoman; 02-10-2015, 05:38 AM.Gegiibishedjig (Deaf Person)
