  • Apple Pie Parfaits

    INGREDIENTS:
1 (12-ounce) package Apples, defrosted according to package directions
    1 (9-inch) unbaked pie pastry
1 quart vanilla or chocolate ice cream
    2 teaspoons granulated sugar
    1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon

    DIRECTIONS:

    PREHEAT oven to 425°F.

ROLL pie pastry into a 12-inch circle. Transfer to a baking sheet and spoon apples over half of the circle to within 1/2-inch of the edge. Fold pastry over apples, stretching dough slightly, if necessary.

COMBINE sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl; sprinkle over pastry.

BAKE for 15 to 18 minutes or until golden brown. Cool slightly; cut into 1 ½ to 2-inch squares. For each parfait, layer three apple pie squares with ice cream.

What do you mean defrost according to directions? What kind of apples are you speaking about. Sounds delicious as soon as I get past the defrosted apple part. LOL Thanks

frozen fruit. You can use frozen blueberries in place of frozen apple slices. Also, with frozen apples I like to use a little more sugar than the recipe calls for. If you use canned apples, you really need to doctor up the apples. Brown sugar brings out the flavor of canned apples (pie filling).
