  • Ham Strata

Mmmm...big hit at breakfast the other morning. Prepare it the night before and bake it in the morning.

16 slices bread, crust removed (day old works great)
    1 pound cubed ham
2-3 cups shredded cheese (monterey jack is good)
    3 cups milk
    5 eggs
    1/4 teaspoon ground mustard (optional)
    1/2 teaspoon onion salt

Grease a 9 x 13 inch baking dish or similar size casserole. Put down one layer of bread, cover with 1/3 of the ham and 1/3 of the cheese, repeat.

Beat the eggs, milk, and seasonings together. Pour over the whole pan. Cover and refrigerate, at least two hours, and up to two days. Overnight is best.

Bake at 350 for 45 minutes. Enjoy!

Of course you can make additions and substitutions. Just keep the bread, egg, milk ratio the same.

I think I'll try my next one with a lot of veggies.

na,no ketchup. Yucky. Now hot sauce would be ok.
