  • ISO quick pizza crust recipe

Anyone know a good quick pizza crust recipe...something like oven bread maybe?

Or maybe like ol' skool school pizza.

I searched and found something like this:

    2 1/2 c. flour
    2 3/4 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tbsp. olive oil
    3/4 - 1 c. water

Mix flour, baking powder and salt in large bowl. Add 3/4 cup water and oil. Stir with fork until blended and forms a soft ball. If dough is too stiff, add more water, a tablespoon at a time. It should be soft, but not sticky. Knead about 3 minutes on lightly floured surface until smooth.

Mixed this up with my KitchenAid dough hook. Ran out of white flour so I mixed in 1/2 cup wheat flour and a couple extra tablespoons flour.

Pressed out on an oiled pizza pan in about 60 seconds. Make it a little thinner in the middle like tossed dough.

Let you know how it turned out in about 15 minutes!

Best crust recipe, double thick crust:

      MIX:
      2 cups flour
      2 tblsp yeast
      1 tblsp olive oil
      2 tsp salt
      1 tblsp brown sugar
ADD: 2 cup luke warm water, stir.
Knead really well, place upside down in greased bowl, rise 1 hour.
Spread dough out onto large pan; for thin crust place in two smaller pans.
Let rise from 1/2 to 1 hour more.
Heat oven to 400'f, pre-bake crust for 10 min, remove and then put toppings on, cook pizza for another 15 or more minutes, dependant on toppings used. I use tomato paste and season it with italian seasoning and dry garlic for my base.

That sounds good for when you have time.

We did the top recipe, cooked for 30 MINUTES, and it was passable. Pressed out real nice in the pan though.

Remember to make the middle thinnner like a real hand tossed crust so it will cook nice.
