All this talk about commod cheese has got me HUNGRY!!

My favorite thing to do is to shred it over noodles.

Or have a big THICK slice on a grilled cheese sandwich.

What's your favorite way to enjoy commod cheese??
    ...it is what it is...

I think nothing is better than topping an NDN taco with commod cheese, or having it stuffed inside a meat pie. Yumm-o!

A grilled cheese 'n mater sammich (slice of bread, slice of cheese, slice of fresh tomato, slice of cheese, slice of bread - lots of butter on the outsides and then grilled).

          Frito Pie :-)

I bet it would make good tortellini.

Use the Easy Egg Noodle recipe, cut into 2 inch circles (about), wrap around a 1/2"x1/2"x1" chunk of cheese. Fold over and seal, then bend the ends back from the sealed edge and pinch in place.

Boil for about 8 minutes, gently...then strain. Serve with a meat sauce, or canned tomatoes (COMMOD or other) heated with garlic and oregano.

We can find it every once in a while and when we do it cherished like the finest cheeses that come from France
Yes the humble Commod Cheese has a cult following and I would have to say my favorite recipe is to slice a hunk off and smear some commod peanut butter on it and chow down
                        LOL

Of course it makes the best Mac and cheese or Toasted cheese Sandwich

                          ______________

I remember my granny getting commods.
The cheese with some crackers were good. And a red pop to drink!

we had it years ago. and recently we were trying to remember: my mother and i seem to remember it being closer to american cheese but my brother and sister insist it was more like velveeta.... so was it like in between the two?

and we used to fry up those minute steaks and but it on bread with the commod cheese.
