pw.com loading differently now

I will apologize in advance if this is being posted in the wrong place, but it seems like the most logical place for it, the support link does not work.

My computer decided to just up and upgrade to IE7, I had no power to tell it otherwise, the decision was made for me by higher up it seems. I like certain things about it. But a lot of pages will not load into it because they are not "IE7 compatable"

I am wondering if this is true about powwows.com, because it seems to screw up more now than it did before. Dialup does not help my cause at all. If I stay on too long the page will evenetually lock up, with no way to surf or answer to posts. What happens all of the time is the menu bar now looks different, the words do not match up with the graphic, and when you mouse point to one of the headings, the drop down menu is all crammed together, impossible to read. I am uploading a screenshot of this phenomenom. Can someone tell if if this is IE 7 or just dialup or what? Its annoying. I almost want to download Firefox, but I hate it. And going backwards in Windows xp is impossible. Wish I never had it.

IE 7 is terrible! Don't use it!!!!

Download Firefox or go back to IE6.

As for PowWows.com, I'm working on a brand new look for the site. Parts of it will be rolled out today.

I posted some info about it in Announcements.

But the new code is done use CSS which is much, much faster loading than how I was doing the page layout.

IE 7 IS terrible. We can't run a lot of things at work with it. I think what you do is just go to control panel - add remove programs and remove it. It automatically goes back to IE 6. That's what I've been told anyway. I haven't tried it myself.

Then probably turn off your automatic updates.

Yes, this is a known issue that I'm working on.

But to fix it, here's what you can do.

Set your computer to a resolution higher than 800 x 600.

Or use Firefox browser. Either will fix that problem.

Paul, I really like the new look of the site. I had problems with IE7 too, but this new site look seems to have taken care of the problem for me both at home and work. Wow, awesome look and design.

We don't have a chat room so that's why you are getting that message.

How do you get to that page? I need to remove all links to that.

k well all i did was go to the im under the tradind post link
and that opens up the window for the im and i try to go to chat the top button .. then a diffrent window open and it lookes like a powwow page but dark blue and i get that message so i close the window and just look at the im pop up window not knowing what to do

Hey Paul , I have the same problem , so I changed my settings. That fixed it until I adjusted all the other settings so my icons and calender would be the right size in the screen. Then I had the same problem again ! Lots of space between the top of the page and the actual forum.
On a happier note...I love the new look ! Thanks

Oh , and I wondered if you ever got my daughters problem fixed...Modzeeoh...She couldn't post anything...She could read any thread she wanted , but she couldn't post anything !
