I've heard several different opinios on drums and money. Where I am from, if you liked a song, you threw money on the drum. I've been told by others that putting money on the drum can be interpreted negatively. Whats the general concensus on this?03-06-2002, 09:18 PM -
My wife and I are in the "Elder 70+ dance category." Admitting that we may be somewhat old fashioned, but we returned from a last night's powwow where a few of the singers were iphoning at the drum. I notice that some drum groups use hand signals.
That is something new. years ago the singers signaled with the drum.
Examples:
What everyone calls honor beats is just a signal that the tempo will change to a faster beat.( lately some groups hit 'honor beats' on every chorus)

Ok... I know this thread probably belongs in another area but I thought there might be some drum makers/ singers who could give me some advice. Our drum groups drum has tightened up with the warming weather to a point where it sounds " tingy" ( dunno if thats a word) We prefer a deeper sound....04-28-2009, 12:17 PM
