my messages in photo gallery

Hi Paul, I've noticed the new "my messages" feature in my photo gallery...I do receive email updates when someone posts a comment on the photo itself, but is there a way to receive emails when someone sends a new message that ISN'T posted as a comment to a photo???
i just found one of those messages that was 10 days old...a potential customer, so if I knew how to enable the email update for this particular kind of message (if possible???), that would help me lots!!!

oooh, and is there anyway you can reactivate the stay signed-in feature?
I'm finding that I have to login every time I visit the site...and frankly, I haven't been logging in that much, so that's affecting my email notifications too.
