Powwow videos

Powwow season is in full swing right now but where are the videos? I see many videos for Indian Country newsfeeds which are very cool and informative but we can log on to those sites ourselves. I also see a new video featuring George Benson? OK, cool, I guess, but where are the new videos for the last few powwows?
I have a radical suggestion, we need a new category for the news updates. We need some separation from the great dancing and singing and the talking heads.
Anybody else with me on this? Let your voices be heard.

I have alot of videos but my camcorder is the mini dv tape. Im not sure how to get those online. Any ideas?

Pinnacle makes a computer interface for those cameras, I have one of those, a JVC. Pinnacle has a little box device that plugs into your computer via USB with inputs for "video" and "audio" cable from your camera. The enclosed software allows you to download, edit and store your videos in your computer. Then you just follow the Powwow.com instructions to upload to the site.

If your camera records to mini-dv you should have a firewire port on the camera, and you should have one on your computer (last 4 years they have become standard), then all you need to some software such as Adobe Premiere Elements, Pinnacle editing products, Sony Vegas, and then you can step up from there and go all out with Avid Media Composer.

Most editing programs only support import, export, and control for the camera if its connected with firewire, though most consumer cameras come with some software that allows you to import the video over USB and then you import the video into the program from your hard drive. (Note: The reason why firewire is the preferred choice is due to USB's unpredictable transfer speeds; up to 480mbps though not consistant; whereas firewire is for the most part consistant.

After you edit follow the steps provided on this site for info on what standards the server supports.
