I am not a little bit of many things; but I am the sufficient representation of many things. I am not an incompletion of all these races; but I am a masterpiece of the prolific. I am an entirety, I am not a lack of anything; rather I am a whole of many things.

The term wannabe is actually self explanatory... I wannabe black (but I'm not) I wannabe NDN (but I'm not) I wannabe white (but I'm not) People trying to imitate another culture or way of life is a wannabe
        I'm innocent I tell ya!!!

I'm not the one who is asking for an explanation. I know who i am.

            Maybe you're a wannabe

Why must I feel like that..why must I chase the cat?

As for the original question, a wannabe is anyone who tries to be something that they are not. This could be someone who tries to act as if they belong to one culture but really they are not, it could be someone who thinks they can rap, draw, design, direct films, and the list goes on and on and on.

see now you are talking about career fields, not culture. culturally speaking art is evident in all cultures. and rap started as inner city hip hop culture (mainly black and puerto rican new yorkers) but is now global culture, rap being only one of the elements of hip hop.

Wannabees can be filtered out by the following questions. What nation claims you? Who are your elders? Who is your family?

Very simple questions that wannababees can't answer.

I understand the basic definition. I just want to know who, or what groups of people do you all consider to be one.

See, the issue that I am having is I am ndn. No I am not full blood, but I am a whole lotta. And I really want get in touch with my roots. I just dont want to be crucified and hung on the cross for wanting to. I have always known what I am, I have always been taught to be proud of that. Some of us just arent fortunate enough to have elders who stayed in touch with tradition, and their people, for that matter.

Blood quantum doesn't matter. It is the connection to a community and to your family. Are your elders alive or did they hide in the hills? Did they cut the umbilical cord to their people? Which nation do you come from?
