Oklahoma Thread: Goot Men and goot looking women

hey taco we were at the dance in wichita, too. Good singing huh?!!! me and my oldest boys danced, there. Then on Sunday we headed to Stroud for the NAC gourd dance, again more good singing!! My family and I had a great weekend on the road but we were sure tired this morning!!

You know Josiah don't feel bad, I did the samn dam n thing... and I grew up in that area too.....!!!! Shawnee and T-town the same thing happend to me, I seen a lot of cars and figuard I'd go and check it out.... and sure enuff it was that damn dance... I felt stupid cuz i couldn't even navigate my own area!!! Thats the old TG&Y I remember beggin my momm for toys in that place... now its the shawnee's.... so how was that dance??? Did any one go to okc pws club dance?? wondering how that was..... I went to a dance in Wichita.... seems like everyone is ready to powwow, tired of being in side.... anyways enjoy ur mondays fools!!!

It was a good dance overall although i left just after supper
Would have like to have stayed but had things to do...

The Singers were really good Kenneth Cozad was Head Gourd singer and he always attracts others to the drum

I almost went to that dance but at the last min decided to go to Tecumseh
Ahhhh sure is nice to have Options
hmmm what Powwow do i want to attend this weekend!!!

Oh yes, next weekend is a powwow at Western Heights in OKC
I have heard alot people talking about this one to attend
and March is shaping up to have a powwow every weekend somewhere

I know the one in my home town of Tahlequah is closed and now its a bingo hall
I liked that store I have alot of good memories in them begging the parents for something that caught my eye...

I know the one in my hometown closed down several years ago too, they go out of business. I used to buy alot of 45's (records, not guns) there.

Cozad is always great, and you're right, singers seem to spring up at the drum when he's there.

I watched the Prestige this weekend, a great film, would make a good double feature, with popcorn, with the Illusionist. Checked out Babel, can't say much about that, appropriate name for the film, Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett were good as always in it, but what a waste of two hours. Candae, did you go see 23?

Didn't go see 23 but maybe this week. Watched freakin Babel.....how long can a movie get??? And why the jacked up kids??? It was too long and it didn't need to be.....if you know what I mean. I knew as soon as the mexican lady took the kids across the boarder, that was going to be trouble.

Watched the Prestige as well, it was good but man...I really liked the Illusionist....but I LOVE Ed Norton so that's a factor. *L*
Him and Brad Pitt need to do another movie together.

I must admit that i enjoy Ponca singing and especially the war dance songs.
However when its Gourd Time nothing beats Kiowa singing...

I really expected Babel to be a better movie, really disappointing. I got it was about communication, or lack of it, but yeah, some of the scenes, I was like, "alright already, move it along". The Japanese story didn't really seem to do anything but be filler. I like Crash, which is what this movie wanted to try to be so bad. I give it a big ol "bleck".

It's funny that two magician movies came out around the same time, and both of them are really good.

my mom said the same thing, that the Japenese connection was just extra time in the movie. It was a disappointment.

It was weird they came out around the same time b/c it's been awhile since there's been a "magic" movie come out.

I liked Cars, liked Robots better. I think they do stuff like that when they feel like they've overlooked someone like Scorsese too long.
